Destination Wedding- San Francisco, California- Nick and Kat

One of my favorite parts about this job is the relationships that it builds. Or in this case, reconnects. The bride, Kat, and I grew up together in our small hometown. From the age of 6 we had playdates at each other’s houses- making up starting line up cheers for the basketball team and pretending we were on Star Search. We literally grew up by each other’s sides. In high school we were involved in different activities and grew apart, and college led us in different directions as well. But there’s something you just can’t break from a childhood best friend. That person will always be a part of you and hold a strong permanent part of your story- and that’s exactly what Kat is for me.

I was so excited when Kat reached out about getting married. I got a chance to meet Nick and he was absolutely awesome. When they discussed a destination wedding- I was definitely game. Even better- this couple was considering San Francisco, California. My husband is actually a San Fran native. He grew up in California and all of his family still lives there! This wedding worked out amazing because I was able to spend time with my in-laws before and after the big day!!

Kat and Nick (and Nick’s adorable three girls) planned a courthouse wedding. The courthouse in San Francisco is absolutely breathtaking! They also handled the weddings very professionally and privately- which was an unexpected delight! Following the ceremony, we traveled around the city catching photos of some of the most iconic San Francisco sights! A trolley car, the Stinking Rose, the Golden Gate bridge. Kat and Nick reserved a gorgeous private winery reception. We had the entire place to ourselves, and it was the most relaxing, laid back reception and it was perfect!

I am so grateful for opportunities like this- but even more when I can hopefully give just a little bit back to people who have meant so much in my life! Even though this wedding was a few years ago, I still remember it like it was yesterday!!!
